Kumihimo

The Japanese art of cord making is easy in the simple form that I tried.

I did the cords in the order from front to back using ribbon as the medium. The back one is smaller because I used 2mm wide ribbon and the front two was with 5mm wide ribbon.

The front one are using just 2 colours in an 8 cord pattern. about 50cm long
The middle one used 4 colours in the same 8 cord pattern and is a laryette necklace
the back one used 5 colours in an 12 cord pattern ( found here) and is to be a bracelet

There is a plethera of patterns on that site for both Kumihimo and friendship bracelets.

I purchased the above disk from Polymerclay.com.au I got the larger one but feel that the smaller mini would have suited my hands better.
